From the underground to the Mainstage

September 25, 2026 ​ – A Ukrainian DJ who kept creating after being forced to leave her homeland. A celebrated photographer who had to lose his passion before he could truly find it again. A bartender in Bangkok who rebuilt her entire life from nothing. A Romanian survivor for whom a single radio contest changed everything. Four stories, one stage, and a documentary that proves music reaches further than any of us can imagine. 'We Are Tomorrow' premiered on 23 September in London with Miss Monique in attendance and in Bangkok, and is now available to watch on Amazon Music, Amazon Prime and on YouTube.

Tomorrowland and Amazon Music proudly present the newest chapter of 'We Are Tomorrow', a documentary series that looks beyond the spectacle of the world's most iconic festival to find the deeply human stories at its heart. This year's film follows Ukrainian DJ and producer Miss Monique as she takes the Tomorrowland stage amid the realities of war and displacement, and takes the viewer across continents to meet three extraordinary People of Tomorrow: Olav, Fahbeer and Luca. Their paths could not be more different. What they share is a moment at Tomorrowland that meant more than they could have planned for.

Miss Monique

Miss Monique is a Ukrainian DJ and producer whose sound sits at the intersection of melodic techno and progressive house. She built her career from the ground up in Kyiv, developing a devoted local following before her online mix series MiMo Weekly broke through internationally. During the COVID pandemic, her sets gathered millions of views and turned her into a global name, almost entirely through digital platforms.

Then came the war. Miss Monique had already built her own record imprint, Siona Records, and was hitting her stride internationally when she was forced to leave Ukraine and continue her career across Europe under circumstances no artist could have planned for. She kept creating, kept touring, and never stopped pushing forward. Today she performs at the world's biggest festivals, including Tomorrowland, and carries her homeland with her in every set.

'We Are Tomorrow' follows Miss Monique into that world: the discipline it takes to create at the level she does, what music means when everything else has been stripped away, and what it feels like to stand in front of tens of thousands of people at a festival that once seemed a world apart from the place she calls home.

Olav

Olav Stubberud grew up in Norway as a wild kid, spending his days doing sports with the boys in his neighbourhood and documenting everything around him. At thirteen, he bought his first camera. Not long after, he left school to follow his passions, a decision that would take him further than most people who stayed.

He went on to build one of the most recognizable careers in electronic music photography, touring globally with Swedish House Mafia, The Chainsmokers, and Martin Garrix, capturing not just the artists but the culture surrounding them. His reputation has extended far beyond music, with portraits of Vin Diesel and Mike Tyson gracing the covers of Vogue, GQ, and Men's Health, and several successful gallery exhibitions to his name. Through it all, his approach has stayed the same: photography as a way to understand how people live, move, and feel.

When COVID brought touring to a halt, Olav lost more than work. He lost his relationship with photography altogether. Creative exhaustion left him questioning his identity, his work, and his place in an industry he had spent years defining. The way back came through slowing down. He returned to analog photography, slower, more tactile and intentional, and began to rediscover his craft. His most recent work includes capturing Fred Again's Los Angeles shows entirely on film. 'We Are Tomorrow' finds Olav at a crossroads: his past mastered, his future wide open.

Fahbeer

Fahbeer is the owner of 'Lost in Thaislation', a cocktail bar in Bangkok she built entirely on her own terms. Growing up as the only child of a Thai teenage mother, she was raised mainly by her grandmother, and it was there that her love for food, flavour, and experimentation first took root. From an early age, she was drawn to the kitchen, to the way ingredients could be combined, transformed, and made into something completely new.

That curiosity eventually found its way into a glass. Fahbeer turned her passion for flavour into a bartending career, and three years ago opened 'Lost in Thaislation' as a direct expression of who she is. The concept is built around a simple but captivating idea: solid to liquid. Thai street food culture and the dishes of local Thonglor restaurants translated into cocktails, their flavours and textures reimagined in liquid form. A Mango Sticky Rice cocktail is on the menu. The bar, like Fahbeer herself, runs on its own logic, its own hours, its own rules.

Later this year, she brings that world to Tomorrowland Thailand, where she will run her own cocktail bar at the festival. She lives in the centre of Bangkok with her squirrel, Meena.

Luca

Luca lives in Cologne, Germany. His life began in secrecy: born in the attic of a school in Romania to a teenage mother who was hiding her pregnancy. He grew up in Romanian orphanages, moving through a system where care was inconsistent and emotional support was almost nonexistent. When he eventually returned to live with his family, he was met with rejection and abuse.

At 18, he made the hardest decision of his life. He left with only the clothes he was wearing and his ID, walked away from everything he knew, and spent years surviving on the streets, taking small jobs when he could, trying to find any foothold in a life that had never offered him stability.

In 2017, everything shifted. Luca won tickets to Tomorrowland through a radio contest. Walking into that world for the first time, a place defined by music, connection, and shared experience, was unlike anything he had ever encountered. The festival became an instant turning point, shifting not just his environment but his entire perspective on what was possible. Over the years, the people he met at Tomorrowland grew into something he had never really had before: a family. A community built not on blood or obligation, but on music and the simple act of showing up for each other. Step by step, he built something stable in Germany, where he now works as a flower delivery driver. For Luca, Tomorrowland is not a festival. It is proof that life can change in an instant, and that even the smallest opportunity can open the door to something bigger.
