Tomorrowland unveils Consciencia: a MainStage built around the World of Emotions
Inspired by creativity, shaped by innovation, and brought to life through craftsmanship
- Tomorrowland unveils Consciencia for its 20th edition, a magical world built around six universal emotions, each with its own unique Province. Following the reveal of the official trailer, festival novel and Treasure Case, the story now unfolds further with the unveiling of the festival’s iconic Mainstage. Combining world-class innovation, storytelling and artistic craftsmanship, the Mainstage stands as the centerpiece of Tomorrowland’s anniversary edition and will later travel beyond Belgium to future editions in Thailand and Brazil.
Consciencia: a world of emotions
Consciencia represents the World of Emotions, where six Provinces each embody a different emotional state, as told in 'The Legend of Consciencia' novel. At the heart of the stage stands Amutaz, the monumental face that carries every human emotion within. From this central figure, staircases and bridges extend across the stage, symbolising the journey that guides us through a tapestry of emotions.
- Wonder: The clouds of Wonder are magical and reflect the emotions of their citizens, changing shape to echo their feelings and thoughts.
- Joy: Flowers and bees fill this vibrant Province, mirroring the happiness, energy and optimism of its people.
- Desire: Birds with elegant wings and feathers soar through this Province, symbolising the aspirations and passions that lift the hearts of its inhabitants.
- Love: Butterflies float gracefully through the landscape, representing the evolving nature of love and the lightness it brings.
- Anger: A rugged world of stone and rock reflects the raw power, honesty and intensity of this emotion.
- Sadness: Expanses of sand and deserted beaches create a quiet landscape where colour gently fades, capturing moments of reflection and melancholy.
In-house production
The creative journey took more than two years, from the first sketches to production, followed by 54 days of construction to bring this magical world to life. From the first concept sketches to 3D modeling and sculpting to production, every step is equally important to the final product. To have full control over the entire process, all steps are handled in-house by Tomorrowland's creative department, from the design by the Tomorrowland 3D department to execution by the Tomorrowland Atelier.
